Harry Potter: A History of Magic, New York Historical Society •

An immersive exhibit that combines digital interactive displays, medieval books, documents, manuscripts, J.K. Rowling’s own manuscripts, and illustrations from the book cover artists, Harry Potter: A History of Magic explores Rowling’s real-life British inspirations for her Hogwarts world. Different rooms focus on wizarding foundations, such as Herbology, Charms, Potions and Astrology. The exhibition began in London’s British Library to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of the the first book that kicked off the series, Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone. Harry Potter: History of Magic is a joint exhibition between the British Library and the New York Historical Society.
