Mixed Beings

Mixed Beings

Layla Love

This artwork is created by painting emulsion and overlaying the photographic image onto the wooden board, which has been hand painted with 24K gold leaf. The image is a single image rather than a composite, meaning that Love was taking the photograph within three feet of the tiger with a wide angle lens with the painted avatar woman being literally right next to him. It takes a lot to surrender to that moment when you are literally face to face to this giant, yet majestic, angelic beast. (It was fucking crazy)

The intention of Mixed Beings is for the viewer to receive the gift of bravery from both this avatar being and a definite king of the jungle. The white tiger is born but once in a lifetime. What is rare is precious, and what is precious is deserving of our respect.
