Walk Through A Bamboo Forest

Layla Love

What does not bend, breaks. This work of art is encouraging the viewer to tap into the suppleness of their being. It is a time when each of us should explore rewilding, learning to yield to the forms of nature. The bamboo gave her a framework. The metaphorical meaning of this, derived from a story of a particular type of bamboo that you must water consistently for three to five years before it even begins to sprout; yet within six months of sprouting, it can grow up to thirty feet. Reminding us to continue to water and nurture our dreams with consistency. The photoshoot was part of the featured woman’s celebration of her 18th birthday. Having been a Cirque du Soleil performer, she was able to illustrate the beauty of adaptability and the strength of flexibility
