Gerardo La Porta

Gerardo La Porta prefers the immediate vivacity of acrylic paint to his previous studies in oils and watercolors. A self-taught artist, a young La Porta was captivated by the original masters of Renaissance art: Michelangelo, Raffaello, and others from art’s golden age. Later, La Porta discovered and fell in love with the modernists: Modigliani, Miro, Klee, Kandinsky, Dali. After years practicing his craft, La Porta developed his own style, incorporating art deco and modern styles in his contemporary vision. He’s greatly influenced by the role that love plays in one’s life and the emotions that remain long after the person is gone. La Porta live and works in Pavia, near Milan, Itay.
