Christopher Charveriat was born and raised in Paris, France, in Marrakech, Morocco, at the Chateau de Chaillouvres in Chaneins, France and in Beziers. He studied at Beaux Art in Paris, then decided to study interior design at Ecole Camondo in Paris and studied architecture in Barcelona at EPC before working as an architect in Paris for approximately ten years before moving to New York.
Chaveriat works in oil, photography, mixed media assemblage sculptures and mixed media paintings. Christopher injects a wry humor into his art pieces, immediately drawing to mind an amalgam of Warhol and Magritte and turning Warhol’s idea of symbol and simulation on its head.
He currently lives in Sag Harbor, New York with Lynn Park Charveriat, who is also an artist. Christopher & Lynn work together on several paintings and artworks.
