About The Art:

A panorama of the north-facing edge of Perito Moreno Glacier, found in Argentinian Patagonia. Its importance outshines its raw beauty, as Perito Moreno remains among the last three glaciers on the Southern Patagonian Ice Shelf which continue to grow. All 45 other fingerlings, as well as 90% of glaciers worldwide, are receding. The Southern Patagonian Ice Shelf is the third largest global storage of freshwater, after Antarctica and Greenland. The intensity of blue is a natural result of dense ice that is formed under extreme pressure. Such pressure forces out all the tiny air bubbles we’re used to seeing that makes ice appear opaque and white. Giclee stretched on canvas.
